New Sacmi process is efficient, productive
Linear Blow Forming Employing a new linear process that begins with compression molding of the preform and continues with stretch-blow molding, Sacmi’s new fully electric technology can create high-quality containers for the food and pharmaceutical industries. It uses a double set of blow molds fed by a single molding unit, raising both productivity and the final quality of the container. With a modular design that allows for between two and six cavities, it can produce up to 30 million containers per year. Suitable for clean-room applications, it is particularly efficient for molding preforms with HDPE, LDPE, high-impact PS (HIPS) and other highly viscous polymers. The new machine incorporates Sacmi’s BVS — Bottle Vision System — whichperforms in-line quality checks to verify the integrity and geometry of the container. Downstream options include vision inspection, bottle outlets, leak and metal detection, plasma or flame treatment and a system for counting parts.
What’s new? The technology, which Sacmi plans to introduce to the market in the third quarter of this year.
