Blow molding machinery maker Bekum America Corp. has welcomed its largest-ever class of nine apprentices to the 2025 apprenticeship program.
“We are honored to welcome the largest class in our apprenticeship program’s history,” said Steve London, president and COO of Bekum America. “This group reflects the strength and future of our industry. Their energy, drive, and desire to learn are exactly what we need to continue building the next generation of highly skilled employees.”
The cohort represents a diverse group of future trades professionals. Some come from high schools, others from community colleges or military service.
Bekum established its apprenticeship program in 1994. In May 2001, the company graduated the two youngest active journeymen in the U.S. Since the program’s inception, 35 apprentices have completed the four-year program, with 17 currently in the program and 8 graduates employed at Bekum.
“We are looking to develop the next generation of leaders, whether it is through personal coaching or training,” London told PMM in an interview earlier this year. “The next generation of leaders is already getting training and skills they are going to need in the future, and the senior team brings them into the decision-making process.”
Bekum America is based in Williamston, Mich.
