HE480D Meccanoplastica’s fully electric, double-station machine can produce HDPE, PE, PP or multilayer bottles for consumer, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food and industrial applications. The extrusion blow molding machine can be configured with from one to six cavities per station, and is capable of producing containers with a capacity of up to 5 liters. Plastics Machinery Group represents Meccanoplastica in North America.
What’s new? The control system. At NPE, an upgraded HE480D was slated to be equipped with a new, user-friendly control system from B&R Industrial Automation Corp., Roswell, Ga. Meccanoplastica also has updated the look of the machine, with a graphic restyling to commemorate the company’s 40 years in operation.
Benefits Energy efficiency. The HE480D has an energy recovery braking system, similar to the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) concept, that helps it save energy costs. It can produce multilayer containers with up to six coextruded layers, including recycled content, depending on the application.
