Designed for foaming applications, Promix's static mixer works inside the extruder.

P1 cooling mixer Designed for foaming applications, Promix's static mixer works inside the extruder, where it is typically installed just before the die. The mixer stirs the polymer so it maintains a constant temperature as it reaches the die. In the picture below, the P1 cooling mixer is depicted to the right of the company's Q1 annular die, which will make its debut at the K show.

What's new? Availability in the U.S. Promix previously has offered the unit in Europe.

Benefits Improved temperature control, creating better conditions for foaming applications. The cooling mixer reduces temperatures within the melt, creating higher viscosity and melt strength; this results in smaller foam-cell size, which leads to material savings.
