Highfeed 6 Seco's new milling cutter is capable of 0.07-inch-deep axial cuts and is ideal for applications requiring large amounts of material removal and significant stability and torque. It features double-sided inserts with six cutting edges.

What's new? The cutter, which just came out in the past few months. It was among several other innovations shown by Seco at the International Manufacturing Technology Show last month.

Benefits High-performance cutting, even in high-feed applications, such as face milling and plunging, or with difficult-to-machine materials. The milling cutter can handle everything from stainless steel to heat-resistant superalloys. Also, because the inserts mount at low lead angles rather than radially against the side of the tool, they cause and experience less vibration, leading to longer life and higher-quality surface finishes.
