F.I.T.S. components PCS has expanded its Fast Interchangeable Tooling System, which is compatible with Master Unit Die-style U frames from DME Co., Madison Heights, Mich. The system's inserts can be used for short production runs, sampling and prototyping.
What's new? Six new frame sizes and expanded insert styles, released in July. The line has been expanded to feature new F.I.T.S. Solid, F.I.T.S. Solid Plus, F.I.T.S. Laminated, F.I.T.S. Laminated Plus and F.I.T.S. T-Style Plus offerings.
Benefits Customizability. F.I.T.S. eliminates the need for standard mold bases. With the system, changeovers take less than 5 minutes and require no special equipment. Changing a mold simply requires removing the inserts, rather than the mold frame, which remains mounted to the platens of a press.
