Sidel improves inventory management process

July 29, 2015

Sidel Inc., Norcross, Ga., which makes machines for blowing and filling PET bottles, has introduced a spare parts service it says will maximize beverage processors' uptime. Under the program, Sidel has expanded a network of distribution centers so that parts can be more quickly delivered to processors, and it has created priority lists to help customers plan their inventory needs. In an emergency, parts can be delivered within 48 hours, if they are in stock at a local parts hub, or within five days, if they are outside the network, Sidel says.

Sidel offers around-the-clock, overnight and weekend services. It also engineers refurbished assemblies, providing rotation assemblies to keep lines running while needed spare parts can be delivered.

To support its new service, Sidel says it has doubled the size of its global spare parts hub and introduced new logistics technology for advanced tracking over the last 18 months.
