
3D printer manufacturer Stratasys Ltd., Eden Prairie, Minn., has signed a deal to acquire Covestro AG’s additive manufacturing materials business for about $43 million, plus additional inventory, less certain liabilities.
The purchase will include Covestro’s R&D facilities and activities, development and sales teams in the U.S. and abroad, a portfolio of approximately 60 additive manufacturing materials, and hundreds of patents and patents pending.
The deal is expected to close in Q1 2023, subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of regulatory approvals. The majority of Covestro’s employees will continue to be based in Geleen, Netherlands and Elgin, Ill.
