Brown's lip roller is user-friendly

New HMI stores recipes, eliminates manual setup; plexiglass guards offer accessibility and visibility.

LR-2020S Brown LLC, the thermoforming division of Brown Machine Group, introduced this servo-driven lip roller at K 2019. It has detection eyes and sensors that track products through the machine; an alarm notifies the operator when it detects a lag in product flow. The company demonstrated it putting a lip roll profile on thermoformed cups as part of a turnkey system that included counting, wrapping and case packing equipment.

Benefits Automated setup. The control system’s ability to store recipes makes changeovers faster. The plexiglass guards of the LR-2020S give operators easy access for maintenance tasks and visibility while the machine is in operation. The lip roller works with a range of materials including PS, PP, APET and PE and can also fit into existing plant layouts with the potential up for right-hand or left-hand setup.
