SPE Thermoforming Division names new officers

Ed Probst becomes new division chairman in elections held in Fort Myers, Fla.

The SPE Thermoforming Division elected new officers at its board of directors meeting, held recently in Fort Myers, Fla. Ed Probst was named the new division chairman, replacing Stephen Zamprelli, who now becomes prior chairman for the division.

Other newly elected officers include Paul Uphaus, who was chosen as chairman-elect; Gordy Murphy, who becomes secretary; and Renee Vinsick, who will join the division’s board of directors. 

The principal of Probst Plastics Consulting LLC, Milwaukee, Probst has 38 years of experience in the heavy-gauge custom thermoforming industry. He is a senior member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and has served a wide range of roles with the division over the years.

Zamprelli, who had been division chairman for two years, has a career that spans more than two decades in designing and manufacturing products. He is VP of engineering and product development at Formed Plastics, Carle Place, N.Y., and an active member of the division.

Uphaus has 32 years of technical experience in the plastics industry, and is the director of applications development and technical services at Primex Plastics Corp., Richmond, Ind. He has served as secretary of the division for the past two years.   

Murphy has more than 32 years of experience in the thermoforming industry in both the heavy-gauge and thin-gauge industries. He serves as director of operations at LINDAR Corp., Baxter, Minn. During the 2021 SPE Thermoforming Conference, he served as a roundtable moderator.

The newest member of the SPE Thermoforming Division board of directors, Vinsick has been involved in the plastics industry for more than 30 years. She is the business-development manager for SIMONA Boltaron, a division of German firm Simona AG.
