What’s new? Industry 4.0 upgrades. WM Thermoforming's machines use the OPC-UA protocol for machine-to-machine data sharing. Now the company has partnered with Piú Sviluppo srl, an Italian data integration firm, to process and analyze machine data and data from other equipment in the factory. It determines overall equipment effectiveness and provides insight into how users can improve operational efficiency. The new Industry 4.0 capabilities are available on existing machines by replacing the PLC and software, making it possible to connect older equipment to the factory network.
