    Brown Machine Group acquires aXatronics

    Thermoforming and material handling equipment manufacturer Brown Machine Group (BMG) has added robotics and automation equipment supplier aXatronics to its portfolio of brands. BMG, Beaverton, Mich., provides equipment and services under the brand names Brown, Lyle, Nalle Automation Systems and Freeman Co. Knoxville, Tenn.-based aXatronics offers products that include stackers, loaders, case packers and end-of-arm tooling.

    The services offered by printing farms and service providers such as Jabil illustrate the growing array of applications possible from 3D printers, including R&D; prototyping; production of jigs, fixtures and tooling; bridge production; serial production; and parts repair.

    Kiefel will cut about 100 jobs at its Freilassing, Germany, headquarters.
