Eagle introduces flake analyzer

April 1, 2018
Eagle Vizion's new flake analyzer uses near-infrared and visible light to detect and identify flakes as small as 0.5mm and as large as 20mm at a moderate throughput.

Flake analyzer Eagle Vizion's new flake analyzer uses near-infrared and visible light to detect and identify flakes as small as 0.5mm and as large as 20mm at a moderate throughput. It can identify varieties of polymers but also glass and aluminum, as well as separate plastics by color. It is designed to analyze material diverted from the mainstream, which it then reinserts to the mainstream. It can efficiently analyze up to 88 pounds per hour of 0.5mm flake from a 6-inch conveyor feed. The flake analyzer is useful in a lab setting or for industrial use.

What's new? The model. At Eagle Vizion's NPE2018 booth, visitors will be able to bring samples and get them tested by the flake analyzer.

Benefits Efficient quality control. Like all Eagle Vizion vision units, the newest model is Industry 4.0-capable. It can gather and store data in real time, with data regarding the  proportion of contaminants identified stored in an SQL database, which can be accessed to check production quality. When purity levels change or the material is trending toward a lower-grade product, the Eagle Vizion Analysis software can be configured to alert staff of the abnormalities and redirect production for recirculation, or alert the plant PLC. It is accurate to within 10 parts per million.
