Factory Automation, Controls & Technical Services (FACTS) has launched a new in-line measurement device for extruded sheet.

Terahertz Gauge Factory Automation, Controls & Technical Services (FACTS) has launched a new in-line measurement device for extruded sheet that incorporates the TeraGauge thickness measurement gauge from TeTechS Inc., Waterloo, Ontario. Using terahertz waves, the device can measure both the total thickness of a multi-layer sheet (up to 200 mils), as well as the thicknesses of up to three individual layers. Appropriate for clear, translucent and opaque sheet made from any type of resin, the Terahertz Gauge continuously scans the entire web using a single head positioned above the sheet. The rugged frame, which can be customized to accommodate any sheet width, features an industrial linear actuator system.

What's new? The gauge.
