Dry Mold System Kundl, Austria-based Blue Air Systems GmbH has added three new sizes to its line of Dry Mold System (DMS) dehumidification equipment. The DMS uses a closed-loop circuit that surrounds the mold with dry process air at a dew point of 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. In the U.S., DMS equipment is distributed by Comet Plastic Equipment.

What's new? Initially offered in two sizes — 882 cubic feet per minute (cfm) and 1,471 cfm — Blue Air has added three new models with 294 cfm, 589 cfm and 1,177 cfm. In addition, Blue Air upgraded its refrigerant circuit for more stable operation and a more constant dew point.

Benefits Energy savings and the ability to dehumidify a mold without chilled water. The DMS units employ a refrigerant compressor to cool the mold, reducing costs by as much as 80 percent compared with a water chiller.
