Coperion K-Tron has upgraded its KCM feeder-control module, which can be used with all Coperion K-Tron feeders.

KCM Coperion K-Tron has upgraded its KCM feeder-control module, which can be used with all Coperion K-Tron feeders, including single- and twin-screw, vibratory, liquid, gravimetric and loss-in-weight models.

What's new? A vector drive with integrated variable-frequency drive (VFD). With the drive, the module can directly control AC motors and servo motors. Previously, the KCM was compatible with DC, stepper and vibratory drives and required a frequency inverter for use with AC motors. The upgraded product became available in the U.S. market last month.

Benefits More drive options and improved performance. The integrated VFD provides full closed-loop control and applies Coperion K-Tron's control algorithms for improved feeder performance. The KCM provides motor alarms, status and diagnostics; also, the motor direction can be reversed without the need for external hardware.
