Strong Sepro has expanded the capabilities of its Strong line of three-axis servo robots, which are suited for stacking and simple pick-and-place tasks, as well as more complex operations when equipped with the appropriate control.
What's new? Longer strokes on both the vertical and demolding axes. The three models now are offered in both standard and new extended-stroke versions. Also new is an optional servo-driven wrist, instead of the standard pneumatic wrist. The servo wrist can grip and position parts at any angle.
Benefits Flexibility. The longer strokes allow the robots to handle larger parts and be used on injection molding machines with greater clamping forces. For example, the Strong 60, the largest in the line, now can serve injection molding machines as large as 3,000 tons, compared with 2,800 tons for the standard version. Also, the new servo wrist makes it easier to set up and operate the robot, and allows for simpler end-of-arm tooling.
