What's new? An enhanced register sensor, which is available as an option on any new SP1, or as a retrofit on certain older SP1s.
Benefits Greater accuracy and reliability. With the new sensor, the splice position is more precise, lessening the amount of film waste. Also, the company has improved the capability of the sensor to distinguish colors, so that it can function even when the film color is similar to the black registration marks it uses to gauge position. Operators can relocate the sensor by using a touch-screen interface to change between products of different lengths or pitches.
