Profile inspection unit is made more efficient

Feb. 13, 2017
Starrett has updated its laser measurement device for inline inspection of extruded profiles.

Profile360 Starrett has updated its laser measurement device for inline inspection of extruded profiles. Profile360, now in its fourth generation, continuously monitors angles, squareness, gaps, grooves and key dimensions during production. The device signals an alarm when dimensions change and allows users to view real-time profile geometries from any networked PC. Its software creates reports on the dimensional statistics of each production run.

What's new? Numerous features, including an alarm notification module that sends an email to appropriate personnel when an alarm condition is met. New software capabilities allow the device to be used offline, and to save or print snapshots of the profile.

Benefits Improved efficiency and less scrap, because operators can immediately respond to problems. Also, Starrett has improved the device's accuracy and has made its sensors more accessible for easier cleaning.
