Alliance offers a line of spring-loaded LVIT sensors
GHS-19 Alliance Sensors has introduced a line of spring-loaded linear variable inductive transducer (LVIT) sensors for processes in which the sensing element can't be attached to the object being measured. The sensors provide dimensional gauging and position measurement in factory automation and a variety of industrial and commercial applications, such as robotic arms and packaging equipment.
What's new? The product line, which was introduced in September.
Benefits Long life, compact size and cost savings. Contactless operation eliminates sensor wear from rapid cycling, while the stroke-to-body-length ratio allows the use of shorter housings. It's 33 percent shorter than a typical spring-loaded linear variable differential transformer so it can be used in tighter spaces. The GHS-19 also sells for about 50 percent less than a typical linear potentiometer.
