Sun Plastech's line of purging compounds expedite material and color changes and remove carbon contamination.

Asaclean UF2 Sun Plastech has expanded its line of purging compounds, which are used by injection molders and extruders to expedite material and color changes and remove carbon contamination. The company's new grade is suited for color changes, material changes, hot-runner cleaning and machine shutdowns.

What's new? More applications. The grade is especially suited to blown film production, blow molding and cast film; it can also be used for injection molding. Asaclean UF2 has a processing range of 340-610 degrees Fahrenheit, can pass through a 200-mesh extrusion screen pack and requires only 0.01mm clearance for hot-runner gates and extrusion dies. It is compatible with PE.

Benefits Significantly faster and more economical material and color changeovers. Also, because the compound has a high degree of melt strength, it helps blown film manufacturers maintain the film bubble (shown) so that processing equipment can run normally during purging. Likewise, for blow molding, it helps maintain the parison.
