This new line of three-phase soft starters from Carlo Gavazzi is designed for use with AC induction motors up to 100 horsepower.

RSGD soft starters This new line of three-phase soft starters from Carlo Gavazzi is designed for use with AC induction motors up to 100 horsepower. They reduce the starting electrical current to minimize the stresses on a motor during starting and stopping. The extremely compact soft starters are only 3 inches  wide and can communicate energy, voltage, current and other electrical variables to a PLC for real-time monitoring of motor condition. An internal alarm counter and data logging of the prior 32 starts help with troubleshooting. Applications include control of fans, compressors and pumps, such as the pumps used to cool extruder barrels.

What's new? The product line, which Carlo Gavazzi launched in August.

Benefits Longer motor life, reduced energy use and smoother operation of equipment.
