Seal/cut unit has extra seal head
Seal and cut machine D.R. Joseph has upgraded its machine for high-speed sealing and cutting of films as thick as 6 mils. Used inline with blown film extruders, it operates at speeds of up to 1,000 feet per minute, cutting and sealing the film lengthwise for bag making. The machine has five blade designs suited to different plastics and film thicknesses and also can seal without cutting. Because the machine uses temperatures that are dramatically lower than hot-knife systems, the film's strength and elasticity are preserved, allowing for the production of dunnage bags, bags that contain liquids and other bags where strength is critical.
What's new? An additional seal head, which allows the machine to make two seals along the length of the web. Also, as a custom option, D.R. Joseph can provide machines that perform three or four seals.
Benefits Flexibility and time savings. Now, bag makers can use a wider roll of film to make more bags at once.
