Gear pumps PSI-Polymer Systems has updated some of its extrusion gear pumps (EGP) and chemical industrial pumps (CIPs) with a new servo drive. Originally created for continuous polymer extrusion, the pumps are designed to provide precise metering and constant pressure. Both types offer leak-free operation at pressures of up to 5,000 pounds per square inch.

What's new? The addition of a servo drive that provides both constant volumetric output and precise positional control. The new servo drive is available on PSI's low- to midrange-throughput gear pumps.

Benefits The elimination of the independent gearbox and better responsiveness, resulting in fast reaction times and instant stops and starts. Also, the servo-drive-equipped pumps now can reverse to eliminate any potential for overflow or drip.
