C6 I/O EtherCat Stepper module KEB America's latest entry in its C6 line of automation products is designed to control a stepper or brushless DC motor in motion or position-adjustment applications that require relatively small amounts of power. The device, which communicates over the ­EtherCAT network, features five digital inputs to be used with a holding brake, limit stops, reference switch or similar signals as part of the motor control. It can activate power cutoff and brake control automatically if the motor is idle for a long period of time or if it must accelerate from a standstill.
