Dry Mold System Known by its abbreviation, DMS, this new product from Blue Air Systems GmbH, Kundl, Austria, protects molds from condensation. The unit fills the enclosed mold area with dry process air with a dew point of 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Comet Plastic Equipment distributes the systems in the U.S.

What's new? Availability in the U.S. The DMS is an upgrade of the previous model, the Mold Sweat Protector (MSP). Unlike the MSP, the DMS does not use a precooler or chilled water to provide dehumidifying action. It uses a new refrigerant compressor to provide closed-loop dehumidifying.

Benefits Elimination of condensation. With the dehumidifier on a production machine, an operator can run water at an optimal temperature to chill the mold without causing the mold to sweat. The use of a refrigerant compressor instead of a water chiller reduces energy costs for the dehumidifier as much as 80 percent.
