What's new? An input-output command-slave function that allows robots to be controlled directly by PLCs or programmable automation controllers (PACs) made by Rockwell Automation Inc., Milwaukee, or Omron Corp., Kyoto, Japan. Beta testing for PLCs and PACs made by Siemens AG, Munich, and Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Tokyo,  is underway.

Benefits Flexibility and ease of use. The new functionality allows users to program and operate robots with software that is familiar to them, without having to learn a specialized programming language.
