This new sorting system from Tomra Sorting Recycling, Asker, Norway, can detect metal while simultaneously sorting waste-stream flakes by color and material. 

Autosort Flake This new sorting system from Tomra Sorting Recycling, Asker, Norway, can detect metal while simultaneously sorting waste-stream flakes by color and material. Though it is targeted at PET recyclers, the system can also handle PE and PP. The system is available through a Tomra distributor, Van Dyk Recycling Solutions.

What's new? The system, which debuted a few months ago.

Benefits High-processing detection capabilities, and minimal requirements for maintenance and energy consumption. Tomra says the Autosort Flake's triple-sorting technology allows it to do the job of two machines. With it, users can optimize their PET recycling operations and salvage more high-quality materials. Tomra says the system can achieve efficiency rates of 95 percent and higher.
