MSS, a division of the CP Group, has upgraded its optical color sorter, which it originally released in 2012.

L-VIS MSS, a division of the CP Group, has upgraded its optical color sorter, which it originally released in 2012. The machine is designed to handle a number of applications, including sorting plastic flakes, granulates and pellets, at resolutions of less than 1mm.

What's new? A higher-resolution camera system and the addition of technology that allows the L-VIS to backlight and sort particles in-flight over an illuminated reference, rather than in transit over a slide or conveyor belt.Benefits Highly accurate sorting of even more kinds of plastics. With the upgrades, the machines can sort durable and consumer plastics, including ABS, HIPS, PC, PET, PE, PP and others, with up to 98 percent accuracy. In addition, the backlighting detection technology eliminates the need for cleaning slide and belt surfaces, reducing potential downtime. With it, the machines can generate maximum contrast.
