Cofit's screen changer is designed to filter heavily contaminated thermoplastics, such as agricultural or building films and post-consumer plastics.

Gorilla Belt Cofit's screen changer is designed to filter heavily contaminated thermoplastics, such as agricultural or building films and post-consumer plastics. The system's screen — available in continuous rolls measuring about 165 feet — crosses the resin flow path as it passes through the screen changer body. It can handle most materials, including HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PET, ABS, PS and nylon. In North America, the product is available through ADG Solutions in all but three states; Cofit, which is in the process of opening a U.S. office, will handle sales in California, Oregon and Washington, as well as Mexico.

What's new? Availability in North America.

Benefits Flexibility, and decontamination with minimal material waste, maintenance and operator intervention. The screen changer operates at up to 662 degrees Fahrenheit, with pressures up to 2,900 pounds per square inch, achieving maximum throughputs of 7,670 pounds an hour. Belt replacements take about 10 minutes and, depending on the level of contamination in the melt, one roll can sometimes last all day.
