Mold cooling units have shorter cycles

The RocTool Performance Cooling (RPC) line of mold cooling units is designed to rapidly cool tools for injection molding and processing composites.

RPC The RocTool Performance Cooling (RPC) line of mold cooling units is designed to rapidly cool tools for injection molding and processing composites. The various models in the line are suited to work with a variety of water pressures and flow rates and are controlled remotely via the company's RT series of human-machine interfaces. The C6 model is shown at right.

What's new? The product line, which RocTool created to complement its induction heating process for molds.

Benefits Shorter cycle times and increased control over cooling. For example, with the C2V model, an injection molder can improve cooling time by reducing the polymer flow to a laminar state during heating, and accelerating the flow to a turbulent state during cooling. This allows better control over temperature changes, saving production time, the company says.
