TC series rotary tables The series, which has been available for about two years, has been adapted for LSP Products Group, Carson City, Nev., to handle the company's welding systems' downward forces of up to 400 pounds. Weiss says the design, while customized especially to LSP's automation requirements, can be adapted for other customers. The tables feature an anodized finish on the aluminum jig plate. The chassis system includes the index table, tool plate, machine frame and an anvil back-up support for the tool plate. The TC150-6 is shown at right.

What's new? The use of the rotary tables in the manufacturing of small plastic parts. Weiss says LSP was looking for ways to automate manual assembly-line processes. Weiss delivered a TC220-8 to LSP in October.

Benefits Greater flexibility for automation. Weiss says the tables provide a cost-effective approach for small-part production. With the tables, LSP could readily automate its own processes for two machine designs. The tables' anvil backup support can absorb the heavy-duty forces from the servo-driven welders. The support ensures advanced longevity for the index tables and tool plates against repeated welding production-force requirements.
