Seal and cut machine D.R. Joseph has upgraded its machine for high-speed sealing and cutting of films of up to 6 mils thick. Used inline with blown film machines, it can operate at speeds up to 1,000 feet per minute, sealing and cutting the film in the machine direction, or lengthwise, for bag making. The machine has five blade designs suited to different plastics and film thicknesses and also is capable of sealing without cutting.

What's new? The 6-inch color touch-screen controls, with advanced features for improved reliability and time savings. The controls offer one-touch cleaning, foolproof temperature calibration and password-protected maximum temperature settings.

Benefits Strong, consistent seals and safer operation. Because the unit uses dramatically lower sealing temperatures than traditional hot-knife systems, the film's strength and elasticity are preserved, allowing the production of dunnage bags, bags that contain liquids and other bags where strength is critical. The lower temperature also eliminates the possibility of igniting the plastic, a potential fire hazard with other systems.
