Temp-Tek Designed by Md Plastics for use in Strangpresse's new 3-D printer extrusion head, this new sensor can be used with any kind of molding machine. It measures conditions of fluids inside the barrel. It can measure a range of factors, including temperature and electromotive force — the amount of work being applied to the polymer.

What's new? The device, which hits the market this fall.

Benefits Greater, real-time insight into production. The sensor can be used in place of a standard thermocouple and can be calibrated on a variety of scales for direct communication with a molding machine. In addition, Md Plastics is developing a software program, Temp-Tek Profile, to work alongside the Temp-Tek sensor, so operators can perform even greater analysis of good part/bad part production.
