TwinCAT 3.1 Designed with an eye toward future hardware enhancements and capabilities, the newest version of the TwinCAT automation and control software platform from Beckhoff Automation provides centralized control of sophisticated automation processes. It can handle the work of multiple programmable logic controllers, motion controllers, robots, human-machine interfaces and computer numerical control functions, and is well equipped to meet the requirements of Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 applications.

What's new? Greater capacity to handle multiple cores to create more computing power.

Benefits Longevity and greater connectivity. The high-performance system is ready for hardware with as many as 256 processor cores as it becomes available in the future. Currently, Beckhoff says that TwinCAT 3.1 is more powerful than the hardware it likely will run; as hardware is upgraded or added, the software can be scaled to handle even more tasks.
