Extol's new hot-plate welder provides quick cycle times and precise process control for clean-room and life-science applications.

Compact Fusion Extol's new hot-plate welder provides quick cycle times and precise process control for clean-room and life-science applications. It features an Allen-Bradley control system and large, user-friendly color 6.5-inch human-machine interface (HMI). Available options include a 12-inch HMI, integrated load cells, integrated linear scales and backup power supply.

What's new? The welder. Its design includes servo-driven actuation on the upper and lower press platens and the heated platen, and two electric doors with safety pressure strips that open from both the side and the front to provide operator flexibility and assembly orientation options.

Benefits Small footprint, reliability, cycle-time efficiency and good force, distance and acceleration/deceleration control. At 45 inches by 30.5 inches by 51 inches, the Compact Fusion is the smallest standard hot-plate welder on the market, according to Extol. Made from high-strength, low-inertia aluminum, the welder is designed to provide years of reliable performance under heavy daily use. The company says the welder achieves strong hermetic seals and excellent flash control. In addition, its quick-change tooling reduces the time to change tooling.
