KraussMaffei's FiberForm combines the thermoforming of composite sheets and injection molding into one process.

FiberForm  KraussMaffei's FiberForm combines the thermoforming of composite sheets and injection molding into one process. The fully automated process, which primarily has been used in the automotive industry, increases the strength of fiber-reinforced plastic components. Fabric made of endless fiber in a thermoplastic matrix is heated, shaped in the injection mold and then back-injected.

What's new? Recent improvements have resulted in even shorter cycle times of less than 60 seconds, and lower part weights. The tempering systems have been refined; KraussMaffei now recommends infrared tempering for thinner parts and circulating air for bigger parts.

Benefits  Very strong, lightweight parts and fully automatic production.
