VBD-150 This vacuum dryer from Maguire features a new capability that the company is highlighting for NPE.
What's new? Load cell technology. Maguire has patented this capability on the VBD vacuum dryer line. Officials found that load cells are the most reliable method to control material level in a vessel. Load cells allow the microprocessor to monitor, display and log throughput. After the first batch of material is conveyed away from the retention hopper, a throughput is calculated. This number is updated once per minute. Material usage documentation is available via USB port.
Benefits Greater energy efficiency and smarter material usage, plus proactive monitoring of inventory. The throughput rate of the dryer can be set to precisely match the process. Leftover excess dried material at the end of a run no longer is a concern. Load cells also allow for the running of batches. For example, if operated on Batch Mode, the VBD would run its batch size and then automatically shut down.
