MIREX-MT-V This new polishing stack from Reifenhäuser Group is a mechatronic roll set-on system for high-performance extrusion lines producing PET film.
WHAT'S NEW? First launched at K Show 2013, the MT-V allows a rapid, reproducible adjustment of the roll nip. Settings are configured automatically. Reifenhäuser is in the process of introducing the technology into polishing stacks for PS and PP films.
BENEFITS Short times for changing from one PET film thickness to another and a 75 percent reduction in reject rates. Also, PET films as thin as 120 micrometers are possible, depending on configuration and product parameters; the result is cost advantage, especially for producers of blister and display packaging.
