WHAT'S NEW? Novatec is the first licensee of Prophecy Sensorlytics, Columbia Md., and has exclusive rights for the sensors. The sensors record parameters such as pressure, temperature, vibration, sound, air and material flow, and the data is measured against a baseline for each function. Prophecy also has developed a "predictive maintenance" app that tracks gathered sensor data and transfers it via Bluetooth to a smartphone or through the cloud.
BENEFITS Processors will know when a clogged filter is reducing output, a pump is running low on oil or the air flow in a dryer is declining. This information is available in advance of a machine or process failure, so action can be taken to avoid a breakdown. Novatec will include the Prophecy app on systems equipment at no extra cost.
