Razor Impact Trimmer This high-speed rotary impact trimmer from Velocity Equipment Solutions LLC eliminates problems common to rotary trimmers and can change from one container to another within an eight-hour shift.
What's New? Electromechanical actuators replace hydraulic cylinders, pumps and actuators. With drive mechanics located above the spindles, the underside is open for scrap handling devices. Trim tooling travels in a rotary motion but the unit gives a conventional impact trim at high speeds.
Benefits A high-speed capability — up to 160 HDPE extrusion blow molded bottles per minute — combined with a wide operating window and a potential resolution to scrap handling problems. The trimmer came out of a three-year R&D collaboration with dairy-bottle producer Nampak Plastics Europe Ltd.
