Erema redesigns extruder system for recycling
Intarema TVEplus Erema’s extruder system for recycling enables trouble-free processing of materials that are otherwise difficult to process, such as heavily printed films and very moist materials. It performs ultrafine filtration, melt homogenization and high-performance degassing all in a single step. Among other materials, it can handle PE washed flakes, low-density PE (LDPE) washed flakes, PP film and PE film.
What’s new? Further developments to the second-to-largest model, the 2021, which Erema unveiled at the K show. The Intarema TVEplus features a new design, with just one extruder, compared with the previous design, which featured two extruders connected by a melt pipe. It joins a larger system, which Erema released last summer with a throughput of over 4.4 tons per hours. It features Erema’s Counter Current, which continuously feeds the extruder with preheated material that is 9 to 27 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than with conventional cutter-compactor systems.
Benefits Cost-effectiveness and process reliability, and even higher-quality recycled pellets. Compared to prior versions, the new recycling system is more than 6.5 feet shorter than the previous cascade design. Additionally, the new design reduces the melt temperature, lowers energy consumption and minimizes maintenance requirements.
