Break Duo handles highly contaminated melt

March 7, 2023
The innovative shape of its six-blade rotating scraper disc makes cleaning easy and prevents filtered contaminants from returning into the melt.

Duo This self-cleaning double-filter system from Break Machinery, Grantorto, Italy, debuted at K 2022 and boasts high productivity, with the ability to produce high-quality melt from contaminated sources. It features a filtering surface area of 1.8 square feet, and can handle a maximum flow rate of 6,614 pounds per hour. It is manufactured of high-quality alloy steel, with anti-wear treatments for highly stressed parts. Break Machinery is distributed in the U.S. by ADG Solutions.

What’s new? Scraper disc geometry. The innovative shape of the six-blade rotating scraper disc offers excellent cleaning, even at low rotational speeds, while also preventing filtered contaminants from returning into the melt.

Benefits Simpler and quicker maintenance and cleaning tasks. The Duo’s innovative design makes it possible to tackle both routine and scheduled maintenance without having to disassemble parts. Able to adjust the discharge screw independently of the speed of the scraper disc, the Duo can treat highly contaminated materials. By using two filters, the Duo can maximize filter surfaces compared to the size of the filter chamber.
