Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. announced plans to develop an engineering and technology center in Hilliard, Ohio, with plans to build a $65 million facility of approximately 110,000 square feet near the company’s existing headquarters. ADS provides water-management solutions in the stormwater and on-site septic wastewater industries, and is North America’s largest plastics recycler.

“The ADS Engineering & Technology Center will be the most advanced stormwater engineering center in the world dedicated to product engineering, material science –– including recycled plastics –– and manufacturing technologies,” said ADS President and CEO Scott Barbour.

The new facility will allow the company to consolidate its current product development and testing operations and manufacturing engineering development into a single site. It will include an advanced technology lab for manufacturing and engineering prototyping, laboratories to test materials’ performance and extrusion capability to develop next-generation product formulations.

The company plans to begin work on the 17-acre site in October, with the facility set to open in late 2023.
