Starlinger doubles capacity for recycling system production

Dec. 15, 2020

Seeing strong demand for its recycling technology, Starlinger & Co. GmbH has opened a new production space to double production capacity for its PET recycling systems. The Austrian manufacturer, with headquarters in Vienna, converted 118,400 square feet of unused production space in Schwerin, Germany, and said the first two systems made at the site will be delivered at the end of December.

“In the past two years, our division Starlinger recycling technology has seen strong demand for recycling systems,” said Angelika Huemer, CEO and managing partner. “With this in mind, we decided to expand our production capacity by opening a new factory.” Huemer said the site in Germany was chosen because the existing buildings could be adapted quickly.

Stricter governmental guidelines on recycling rates as well as requirements from large international brands such as Coca-Cola have driven the demand for Starlinger’s recycling systems.
