IRB 1700 / IRB 1700ID These robots from ABB are intended for precision manufacturing, with up to 20 percent shorter cycle times and up to 15 percent lower power consumption than comparable robots. Five variants, powered by ABB’s OmniCore controllers, can carry payloads ranging from 13.3 pounds to 26.5 pounds. The robots can operate up to 20,000 hours between oil changes. Precise path repeatability of down to 0.03 mm and joint speeds of up to 700 degrees per second make them ideal for high-speed precision tasks such as material handling, deburring, assembly and machine tending. The ID model features ABB’s Integrated Dressing (ID) design, routing cables and hoses inside the robot arm.
What’s new? The IRB 1700 and IRB 1700ID.
Benefits Shorter cycle times, higher payloads, lower energy usage and high performance for demanding markets such as automotive and electronics. The robots also have a 50 percent smaller footprint than their predecessors.
