ABB Robotics launches high-speed PoWa cobot line
PoWa These high-speed cobots from ABB Robotics are intended to bridge the gap between traditional cobots and industrial robots. They move at speeds up to 19 feet per second and come in six categories to carry payloads of about 15.4 pounds to about 66 pounds. They run on ABB’s OmniCore controller platform and an expanding suite of robotic software tools, including Wizard Easy Programming, and feature programmable buttons on the arm-side interface. Built-in Power and Force Limiting (PFL) and Speed and Separation Monitoring (SSM) enable them to operate safely alongside people in shared workspaces without fencing.

Benefits The ability to automate processes such as machine tending and palletizing that require higher speeds and payloads, while maintaining the flexibility, safety and ease of use of a cobot.
