Baumer UF300 monitors hopper contents
UF300 This compact ultrasonic sensor is Baumer’s first featuring a sensing range of 3 meters, or about 9.8 feet. It joins a broad portfolio of sensors and industrial cameras for the plastics industry, ideal for process optimization and quality control applications. While the sensors are easy to install and use, according to Baumer, processors might opt for the help of integrators or in-house automation specialists to use them to their best advantage.
What’s new? The sensors, which can be used to check fill levels in parts hoppers. The sensor’s sonic cone is adjustable via IO-Link and allows reliable level detection even in the case of cluster-forming parts, such as longer pins or rivets. The sensor is powered by Baumer’s NexSonic technology developed for optimal performance. NexSonic ultrasonic sensors’ design results in shorter signal path and improved electromagnetic compatibility. The compact electronics boost signal processing time and reliability.
Benefits Ability to check content level of hoppers, without regard to the color or transparency properties of the contents.
