System features heated blade for cutting pipe
iCut Baruffaldi Plastic Technology displayed its latest cutting system for plastic pipe and profiles at K 2019. Instead of a traditional planetary blade, iCut uses a type of heated blade that circles the piece it will cut. The operator inputs the resin type and thickness of the piece to be cut, and the unit’s software coordinates the optimal heat, the blade insertion and its motion, which is controlled by servomotors.
What’s new? The iCut.
Benefit Compact size and versatility. The iCut has a relatively small footprint and makes its cuts without removing material or producing dust. With its precise controls it can cut not only smooth and corrugated PVC, PE and PP pipe, but also oval, elliptical, rectangular and irregularly shaped profiles. It has fewer moving parts and lower maintenance and energy costs than the company’s previous cutter models. Blade changeover is quick and easy.
