Giant Tooling System (GTS) Engineered specifically for rotary applications such as mill-turn machining involved in the production of large and heavy workpieces, Erowa’s GTS is designed to facilitate automated tool changes. It features the company’s zero-point tooling technology, and integrated safety and monitoring features, such as hydraulic open/close control and pneumatic surface cleaning capabilities. Users can mount clamping rings on the workpiece carrier or fixture, so they can be automatically and precisely engaged in the GTS chucks. With clamping forces of about 8 tons, chucks can accommodate varying pallet sizes, fixture setups and specific production requirements.

What’s new? The GTS, announced in November.

Benefits Rapid and highly precise workpiece changes, resulting in superior machining stability, improved surface quality and greater overall process consistency. With the GTS, users can rapidly and accurately position and securely fasten a wide range of large workpieces.
